1. Life experiences build character

I waited a couple days to write this. Because I was mad and I needed some time to think about what had just happened, I wanted to wait. Like choosing the wrong time to speak when all things had not been considered, I didn’t want to risk saying something out of character. On to the story…

My wife and I were walking to the library with our daughter, as we normally do once a week. Our local library is only a few blocks away so we enjoy the stroll after a hard days work. Contrary to popular belief, there is still information to be found in these ancient ruins, oh and free 8 day DVD and blu-ray rentals.

  3. title: The Womb
I painted this a few months before my daughter was born. My wife and I decided to wait until our baby was born to find out the sex. So I based this painting off the ultrasound they gave us. I loved the way the profile image of her looked and felt I had to do something creative with it. This definitely helped me with the waiting process.

  4. Heroes Without Borders Art Exhibit

From one of the city’s Metro Cables heading towards el Parque Arvi in Medellin I spotted a few smiling faces staring back at me from the top of roofs and the sides of buildings. Blown up photographic posters and tarps of faces of some of the citizens of Colombia.

The photos I saw were part of an art exhibition called Heroes Without Borders. 23 photographs placed in different areas, to prevent the recruitment of children by illegal groups. Here is the link to the other photos…

I had heard of a similar project from the 2011 TED Prize winner JR so I was really excited to see these installations. It’s very encouraging to see how JR’s vision is coming to fruition through his dedication to humanitarian relief and artistic efforts. His TED presentation is an absolute must see and his project sites are worth looking into as well.

  5. Bacano! Art in Medellin

On my recent trip to Medellin, I couldn’t help but notice the gallery of paintings and displays in the form of murals and tags, bombs, and vendors at every corner I looked. The artists that so kindly presented their works for all to see, including me, is exactly what I needed to best refresh my mind and allow myself to receive inspiration.

  6. I had the privilege of photographing Joanna and Anthony’s wedding. It was an amazing time that I too was able to enjoy with my wife and daughter. Congratulations bro! You can see more photos once they get back from their honeymoon :)
